The Adventure Park at the Discovery Museum

Where: 4450 Park Avenue Bridgeport, CT

What: Climbing, obstacles and ziplines through the trees!

When: Wednesday September 24th from 11:30-3:30 (Three hours of climbing, 30 minutes at the start and end for rules/harnessing/deharnessing. **Important to arrive 10 minutes early.)

Cost: (observers are welcome to come at no cost) same price for ALL AGES (this is discounted from regular park pricing, special group pricing saves us $10-$25 per ticket.)

  • Members: $40 per climber

  • Non-members: $45 per climber

Who: Great for all ages (parents who have participated will tell you it's a blast!) but children ages 5 and 6 MUST have an adult climb with them. Children older than this may climb without an adult, but keep in mind any shorter child may need help reaching to clip and unclip themselves and would be best accompanied by a tall friend or adult.

Upcoming September & October Field Trips

Where: Woodcock Nature Center 56 Deer Run Rd, Wilton, CT 06897

When: October 16th 11:00-12:30 then stay for a picnic & play

Pricing: Members $10 per child, Non-members $15 per child (non-members will be invited if members do not fill all the spaces during early registration.) Adults and siblings under 5 tagalong at no cost, but do count in the headcount so please RSVP for the number of children and adults attending even if they are joining at no cost:)

What: Biomimicry Field Trip for ages 5+ . Groups will be split for age appropriate programs, see below:

Ages 8-11+ : We will learn how our eyes work, navigate a course blindfolded while using our other senses, learn about the difference between human and animal senses, as well as ways we have copied animals and plants to help us with engineering solutions. At the end of the program students are presented with a problem and must draw their own solution design using plants and animals as inspiration! *Program in pavilion and on trail*

Ages 5-7: Animal Senses- We will meet insects and reptiles and investigate how their senses are different from our own, and how they use them to survive in the wild. We will also walk the trails to use our own senses to experience nature all around us *Program on trail and inside animal room*

Trevor Zoo Field Trip Dates & Pricing TBA

Where: The Trevor Zoo 282 Millbrook School Rd, Millbrook, NY 12545

What: Program is still in development with the venue and will be updated with details soon, but join us for a visit to the zoo to see animals like a red panda, red wolf, wallabies, owls, reptiles & amphibians, lemurs, tamarins and more! We may observe The Millbrook School student zookeepers in action during their community service time and learn about all the animals through a possible guided tour.
